4-Step Verification Process

Step 1: Feel

Genuine notes have a unique texture. Check for raised print on bank name and the main number.

Step 2: Look

Hold the note up to the light. You should see watermarks, security threads, or see-through windows clearly.

Step 3: Tilt

Tilt the note. Holograms, foil patches, and color-shifting ink should change appearance.

Step 4: Check

Use a UV light to verify fluorescent features. Different notes glow in specific patterns and colors.

Warning Signs of Counterfeit Notes

Paper feels too smooth or too thick compared to genuine notes

Colors look washed out or too bright

See-through window or watermark is missing or poorly defined

Hologram does not change when tilted

Raised print is flat or barely noticeable

Portrait or imagery looks blurry or pixelated

Serial numbers are missing or poorly printed

UV features are absent or incorrect colors
